Endlich ist meine NESI-Pressung angekommen. Der absolute Wahnsinn! Die Qualität ist spitzenklasse. Das Vinyl selbst klingt toll, das Cover hat höchste Pressqualität. Und das Booklet rundet eine perfekte Veröffentlichung ab.
Ich rate Euch, haltet die Augen offen. Not Dead Enough aus Belgien oder Cosmic Key Creations aus den Niederlanden könnten noch ein paar Exemplare haben. Hier lohnt jeder Cent!

Ich habe die CC-Releases gekauft. Die auf 180 Exemplare limitierte Version. Es soll wohl mindestens bei der BaB in neues, verbessertes Cutting geben. Die 100er waren in unter einer Minute ausverkauft. Keine Chance. Bin zufrieden und sehr gespannt, wie die Teile klingen und aufgemacht sind. Ich habe von allen Alben auch schon LPs hier, teilweise 1. Press (Eaten, Bleeding, Vile) bzw. Re-Presses von Metal Blade (Eaten, Tomb, Bleeding) und NESI (BaB). Die hier musste ich aber haben. Und Grave auch.
(Agalloch, Asphyx & Bloodbath hatte ich bei früheren Batches schon gekauft. Absolut großartig).

Bei NESI kannst Du Dich unter "Contact" für einen Newsletter anmelden. Da kommt dann, meist am Vortag, eine Mail mit allen Einzelheiten. Veröffentlichungen, Varianten, Zeit. Außerdem hat NESI eine FB-Seite, wo diese Infos oft (nicht immer) auch verfügbar gemacht werden.

Wann tauchen die ungefähr bei Cosmic Key auf? Hab es gestern verpeilt, weil unterwegs und die BaB als LP wäre schon fein.

Das ist schlecht zu sagen. Manchmal dauert es bei Cosmic wenige Wochen, andere Releases (Asphyx) waren drei Monate nach dem NESI-Drop im Webshop. Einfach die Augen offen halten. Cosmic kündigt die Verfügbarkeit zeitnah via Facebook an. Ich halte not Dead Enough für die bessere Wahl. Insgesamt günstiger, ich glaube auch mehr NESI-Releases im Angebot, und auch schneller verfügbar. Auch hier findet Ihr eine Facebook-Seite mit Infos. Dass CC 180er-Versionen insbesondere bei Not Dead Enough auftauchen, halte ich für denkbar.

Ich bin optimistisch, dass die in ein paar Wochen reinkommt. Die werben ja ausdrücklich mit den NESI Release - denke, da ist eine (vertragliche) Partnerschaft vorhanden. Die Violence Unimagined hatten sie ca. 4 Wochen später im Sortiment ( in zwei Varianten, aber eben „ nur“ die 180er) und ich glaube ich hatte die dann sogar vor dir, Frozen, oder?! Da gab es doch Probleme mit der Lieferung, wenn ich mich recht erinnere…

3.1 master
For every title we will send to our engineer to check if a remaster is required. If needed. That will be a big cost considering the small pressing quality. An extreme example is: I paid 1000€ per album for COB and nightwish for remastering in need of a remaster based on the original tape. It cost a lot of time for the engineer to locate every tape but the pressing quantity is only 300 & 500 copies.
3.2 cutting
I used to cut inside the plant but the sound quality is not ideal. After several trials and now we use SST cutting only. It’s imported from Germany every time. To meet the lacquar expired time we will need UPS priority packet to ship and make sure it landed in the plant within 5 days. And it’s a huge cost for that shipping and tax. But I think worth it. I.e 1st BAB press back to 2018 I used plant cutting and resulted in many people complaints abt the sound quality and IGD. Now the new pressing we use SST cutting and I think the sound improved a lot.
Watching through the industry. Many people mistakenly thinking the master is everything. But actually the cutting makes also huge part for the sound. MOFI and abbey road is famous just because their cutting. They use analogue tapes to cut. The mastering job is actually done along with their cutting process. A good cutting engineer with 30+ career is valuable in this world. They started working from that tape cutting age and know every specific detail when doing the job. Carefully handle every second to maximize the sound quality. That’s the thing we need to storage the specific music for decades.
3.3 pressing
Since all wax materials are imported from Europe. So my plant’s pressing cost is like 20-30% more than European based plants. (The import tax is also not cheap)
The splatter vinyl will have 15-20% more to black vinyl.
Pure color vinyl cost 20-30% more to black vinyl
Swirl vinyl cost 30-50% more to black vinyl.
3.4 printings
All my paper is imported from Italy. The paper is far far more expensive than the normal coated one. And I am probably the only customer in China using this paper. The customization requires me to purchase a full container of paper. Image that I rent a 300 square warehouse (2.5k€ a month) and 50 square is used for storage the paper?!?
As many know I use my own printing factory and is 40km far away from my house. Each batch of printings I have to work like at least 10-15 days and which means 800-1000 km driving needed. Calculate the gas I need....
I bought a ford transit last year for the job and drive for pick up vinyls (plant is 130km far) and printings and now is nearly 26000 km against 13 months.
Anyway. If you ask GZ media to provide a quote you will see the vinyl product is really not an expensive thing. They provide a one stop solution. Simply send the digital files to them and wait for an arrival. They even have their own printing machine (an industrial high speed printing machine is like 1-2 million € no kidding!)
But if you want those vinyls are excellent in every aspect. You will have to devote yourself into it. One simple instruction like “hi plant. I need a high quality product” won’t work~
3.5 royalties
To get titles like CC. DT and all those top bands. A good royalties/advances must be offered. And I will provide around 20 copies free samplers to the band and original label. Free shipping. 20 copies is nothing for a 1000 based releases. But it is a small pain for a pressing run of 300-500.

Das stimmt. Es gab Probleme mit dem Versand. Eine Vielzahl an Bestellung, darunter meine, ging wohl zurück an den Absender. Deshalb nun das neue Versandunternehmen mit den neuen Preisen, das bei wenigen LP (ein, zwei) teurer, bei mehreren LPs aber wohl etwas billiger geworden ist.
