GALAXY is a band from Melbourne, Australia. In choosing the name GALAXY, their mission is to channel the cosmic power of heavy metal, and share it with those who will take up the challenge - to join them on a musical odyssey as far as the imagination will allow.

GALAXY tip their hats to the speed metal and traditional heavy metal acts of the 1980s with their untamed and spirited MLP, Lost From the Start. A force of musical beauty, terrifying in its splendor, it brings to mind '80s Riot, Satan, Megadeth and the classic years of Judas Priest, with manic thrash elements evoking the glory days of heavy music.

Lost From the Start has a dynamic production that appropriately captures the ferocity and emotion the songs exude. Mastering duties for the MLP were handled by none other than Andy La Rocque at his very own Sonic Train Studios, ensuring the maximum potential of the recording was achieved. The stunning gatefold cover art was created by talented Melbourne artist Keelan Ashton-Bell, presenting a sci-fi-inspired alien desert world which prepares the listener for the epic voyage ahead.

Galaxy haben haben irgendwie etwas besonderes, kann ich schlecht fassen. Kann der Großteil der Newcomer nicht aufweisen.

Ich liebe dieses schräge Wunderwerk von Herzen - zugreifen, alle Knüppelkäuze...!

Klingt für mich auf ersten Lausch so'n büschn wie eine kauzige, dreckigere und deutlich kantigere Version sehr früher Heir Apparent. Kommt ganz geil.

Interessant das man das als Speed Metal bezeichnet. Für mich ist das eher traditioneller Metal mit leicht an King Diamond erinnernden Gesang. Ich find die Platte ziemlich stark.

Ich höre viel Megadeth-Riffing heraus, mit einem Gesang, der von der Melodieführung, wenn nicht vom Timbre her, in der Tat sehr auf King Diamond verweist, was in der Summe klingt wie etwas verkniffeltere Lord Fist, wären Lord Fist ein Androide, der sich plötzlich seiner selbst bewusst wird und sich unglücklich in eine verzauberte Kreidler Florett verliebt. In anderen Worten - Jahreshighlight...!

Hör dir mal die erste Scheibe an, da war der Gesamtsound noch etwas anders. Hier gibt es ne ausführlichere Beschreibung (dich hier offensichtlich vergessen habe zu posten), die dem Sound etwas gerechter wird.

edit: habe sie mal kurz angehört und ich kann nun verstehen warum sie hier in diesem Thread ist. Habe sie mir als Download über Bandcamp gekauft. Ich hatte gehofft das sie vielleicht noch als Vinyl in Deinem Shop ist. Dem ist wohl nicht. Habe dann halt andere Sachen bestellt bei Dir.
