Heute Abend sind Gold in Lohr (Unterfranken, Lkr. Main-Spessart) auf
dem "Umsonst und Drinnen"-Festival.

Das inhaltliche und musikalische Konzept fand ich ab Album zwei sehr spannend, dennoch konnte ich mir die Musik immer nur häppchenweise geben.

Dass man auf Why aren't you laughing nicht mehr ganz so unterkühlt und abweisend agiert wie zuvor, kommt mir sehr entgegen. Das Album läuft nahezu jeden Abend einmal komplett durch und und nimmt mich vollkommen in Beschlag. Groß!

Auf dem "Umsonst & Drinnen" war ich letztes Jahr, da waren das Hauptzugpferd für mich Brutus. Und auch sonst hatte ich das Glück, dass sämtliche für mich interessanten Bands an demselben Tag spielten (z. B. auch noch Russian Circles und The Soft Moon).
Allerdings war mir die Stadthalle Lohr zu groß und steril, da wollte keine rechte Atmosphäre aufkommen...

Dieses Jahr kannte ich am entsprechenden Tag außer Gold keine der anderen Bands und hoffe daher auf eine weitere Chance, die Band dieses Jahr live zu sehen (evtl. Unholy Passion Fest in Kölle im Dezember).

Stimmt, der Sound ging schon in Ordnung. Aber Absperrung vor der Bühne und pingelige Security-Leute sind halt nicht so meins, daher versuche ich solche Veranstaltungen im Allgemeinen eher zu meiden.
Und Brutus haben sich letztes Jahr zwar reingehängt, wirkten auf der großen Bühne aber ziemlich verloren und ich fürchte, dass es Gold letzten Freitag auch nicht viel besser ging.

Ey, ich hab die Platte eigentlich nur für Spielkram gehalten und nur gekauft, weil ich will, dass diese Band mich endlich heiratet, aber MAN: Die hat echt einen Mehrwert, die Songs klingen tatsächlich noch - äh - isolierter/-lierender(?) im Gesamtbild.
