Details/Preorder TBA. Vermutlich eine Analyse des Monuments "Fracture".

Der Autor dazu: "Many of you are aware of my 22-year struggle to learn King Crimson's song, Fracture. Well, I've written a book about it. It's gonna about 300 pages and will be available in the next few months. I'm super excited about this. It includes transcriptions, personal notes, very detailed illustrations, conversations with a couple of members of King Crimson, stories from Fracture attempters from around the world, and more. It'll be out on Stairway Press (same publisher as my first book, Clueless at The Work) in a few months. Stay tuned for more information..."

"Quiet moments are when we put time aside to be quiet. Sometimes quiet moments find us. Quiet may be experienced with sound, and also through sound; in a place we hold to be sacred, or maybe on a crowded subway train hurtling towards Piccadilly or Times Square. Quiet Moments of my musical life, expressed in Soundscapes, are deeply personal; yet utterly impersonal: they address the concerns we share within our common humanity." Robert Fripp

Music for Quiet Moments 4 - Requiem (Norwich. June 16th, 2006)

This week's Music For Quiet Moments comes from Fripp's 2006 Churchscapes tour. In a new edit by David Singleton, as Fripp was performing this exquisite music sunlight streamed through the cathedral's stained glass windows.

Happy birthday to Gavin Harrison who celebrates his 57th birthday today...

Bei Amazon gibt es für faire 14,50€ noch/wieder Exemplare der toll, sehr unterhaltsam und humorvoll, aber wertig geschriebenen Bruford Autobiographie (Paperback, 320 Seiten)

Bill Bruford: The Autobiography. Yes, King Crimson, Earthworks and More.

Review: https://www.theguardian.com/books/2009/apr/11/biography-bill-bruford-review

Bill Bruford, once called the godfather of progressive-rock drumming, has been at the top of his profession for four decades. This is his memoir of life at the heart of prog rock, art rock, and modern jazz, playing with Yes, King Crimson, Genesis, Earthworks and many more. It is an honest and entertaining account of life on the road and in the studio, rubbing shoulders with the famous, the less famous, and the infamous, and creating an impressive tally of great music.

A rock musician with the temperament of a classical musician who became a jazz musician, Bruford defies all the clichés about drummers. He says: "You write what you have to write, you play what you have to play, because you cannot sleep at night. If you can sleep at night, you shouldn't be doing this anyway."

From time to time, at polite dinner parties, someone will ask Bill what he does. He replies that he is a musician. "Yes, but what do you really do?" retorts the enquirer. This unusual, funny and insightful music memoir answers that question.

Hab gestern die "Ladies Of The Road" bekommen, sehr coole Ergänzung zu den bisherigen Live-Alben in meiner Sammlung! Nur wirklich schade, dass die hier völlig andere Version von "Court Of The Crimson King" so früh abgebrochen ist...

THORSTEN QUAESCHNING behind closed doors with... MARKUS REUTER

The best art is often created behind closed doors.

Together with renowned musicians, Thorsten Quaeschning of Tangerine Dream welcomes you to a series of musical evenings (Mondays and Thursdays) of a most special kind:

In collaboration with his guests, Quaeschning concocts real-time compositions for the distant eyes and ears of the audience, carrying them off into a unique world of sound far away from nights of monotonous entertainment.

The setup in front of the grand, but empty stage at ufaFabrik Berlin as well as the technically elaborate execution allow the audience to experience an extraordinary concert without having to leave the privacy of their homes.
Quaeschning and his team make use of the exceptional composer's extensive collection of equipment – and more. Creatively, all bets are off:
The Picture Palace Music-founder promises to go "wherever the music takes us".

Robert Fripp - Music For Quiet Moments 6 - Seascape (Lichtenvoorde 13 Jun 2004)
