DVP 279 Kontact – Full Contact LP/CD

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present KONTACT’s highly anticipated debut album, Full Contact, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Borne out of metal and bred for the purpose of learning, The Alien (ex-Blackrat) conceived of KONTACT with then-bandmate Sven Nilson (Antichrist [Sweden], ex-Mystik). A surrogate cult of memberz was necessitated by the great dying of 2020AD, during which The Alien was imprisoned in its home continent of “Canada,” where the group yet persistz. Joined by Matt B1257+12Z (Traveler) and Morh Morf Xela (Hrom) on guitarz, as well as a yet-unidentified force “Unknown” (Chieftain) on drumz, KONTACT began broadcasting obscure and ancient signalz throughout the underground, influenced by the mythic teachingz of Manilla Road, Accept, Master’s Hammer, and otherz.

Now finally ready for transmission, Full Contact is KONTACT’s primum opus, a compendium of stellar hymnz meant to hasten the arrival of the world beyond. Bent backwardz yet strangely (or eerily) approachable, Full Contact inhabits a neon-hazed utopia/dystopia where sleaze metal fuses DNA with tech-thrash – where busyness and commerce collide in resplendent sci-fi dayglo. “Weird” and “wild” are merely human wordz to describe KONTACT’s highly idiosyncratic approach, but to them, such loaded terms exist in star-planes far, far from their orbit. Rather, the eight clusters of crushing & collapsing tonez and robot/reptilian vocalz – in other words, eight “songs” – flow with a finesse that seems second nature; hookz are thus immediate, but not always easy. KONTACT make this metal for themselvez, and you listen. You might then take on a transformation: an astral vampire, an emperor of dreams, a bloodchild, a watcher at the edge of time, or simply one into heavy leather. All is possible here, as infinite as the stained-glass synthz percolating across the album. Either way, you WILL feel the force of Full Contact head on…or head off!

DVP 281 Boundless Chaos – Sinister Upheaval LP/CD

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present BOUNDLESS CHAOS’ highly anticipated debut album, Sinister Upheaval, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Hailing from Germany, the land ever brimming with ancient thrash metals, BOUNDLESS CHAOS was begotten in the year of 2017 when M.F., P.K, T.B., and M.J. heaved bloody deathrash straight up from the ashes of hellfire. With a brutal barrage of drums, slashing guitars, and throbbing bass-lines, they unapologetically worship the sound of the old. In 2019, E.M. completed the force. Now whole, BOUNDLESS CHAOS have been spitting the hellish gospel of chaos, upheaval, fire, and antifascism across an EP in 2020 and then two splits in 2020 – one with Idle Ruin, the second with fellow Germans Reign in Blood.

Still, the best was yet to come, and it’s now arrived in BOUNDLESS CHAOS’ debut album, Sinister Upheaval. Aptly titled, Sinister Upheaval is a ravaging onslaught of deathened thrash built upon a blazing foundation of early Dark Angel, Possessed, Texas’ Devastation, Sepultura’s Schizophrenia, and of course, Sodom’s Persecution Mania (and even Agent Orange!). Here, BOUNDLESS CHAOS stick to their tried ‘n’ true formula, but simply maximize the muscle and tighten the execution; when graced with a well-rounded (yet requisitely dirty) production, the result is nothing short of powerful. And adding to the CHAOS is Malte Gericke (Sijjin, ex-Necros Christos), who does guest vocals on “Guillotine.” No gimmicks, no modernity, no non-metal influences – just straightforward & straight-ahead THRASH METAL from the unholy years of 1986 and ’87, torched to a crisp, and set to conflagrate YOU!

DVP 282 Heavy Sentence – Warriors of Madness 7″

DYING VICTIMS is proud to present a new 7” EP from HEAVY SENTENCE titled Warriors of Madness.

It’s been nearly three years from their celebrated Bang to Rights debut album, but HEAVY SENTENCE are back with DYING VICTIMS for a quick-hitting and heavily satisfying 7” titled Warriors of Madness. Featuring three brand-new & exclusive tracks, Warriors of Madness maintains all the charm of that first full-length – deceptively energetic mid-tempo HEAVY METAL roughened up by the spectre of punk, much like those early days of the NWOBHM – but switches gears slightly by “slicking up” that street-level throb with a production style that’s thick and clean and yet somehow dirtier than the already exquisitely dirty Bang to Rights. As expected, either way, HEAVY SENTENCE keep proceedings as anthemic as ever, with the first two tracks storming & strutting like early ‘80s Motörhead. But the price of admission is more than worth it for the B-side, “Give Yourself to the Night”: a moody “epic” at five minutes, it stalks like a midnight vampire, beckoning and commanding in equal measure. Join these Warriors of Madness post-haste!

DVP 289 Pagan Altar – Judgement of the Dead LP/CD
DVP 290 Pagan Altar – The Time Lord LP/CD

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to reissue PAGAN ALTAR’S cult releases, Judgement of the Dead and The Time Lord, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

While the band is working hard on the upcoming new album, these reissues kick off the collaboration between the British Doom Metal pioneers PAGAN ALTAR and Dying Victims Productions. Based on the beautifully crafted releases on Canada’s Temple of Mystery, these important recordings will finally return into circulation.

Originally recorded back in 1978-79, “The Time Lord” features Pagan Altar’s earliest recordings. Two of these flawlessly executed tracks are from a 24-track recording session, and the rest of the album are early, atmospheric versions of songs that were later re-recorded on Judgement of the Dead. This LP includes a long-lost, never-heard before version of “Night Rider”, from the same era as the other songs! This is pure doom metal sorcery.

Originally recorded in 1982 during the NWOBHM movement, Pagan Altar’s debut album, Judgement of the Dead, is a timeless classic of macabre heavy/doom metal centered around magic, witchcraft, and the occult. This holy grail album is one of the purest, most magical records that were ever written, and had a tremendous influence on the heavy/doom metal scene.

DVP-291-Freeways-Dark-Sky-Sanctuary-1024x1024.jpg

DVP 291 Freeways – Dark Sky Sanctuary LP/CD

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present the highly anticipated second album of Canada’s FREEWAYS, Dark Sky Sanctuary, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

FREEWAYS are comprised of four old friends from the peripheral fringes of the greater Toronto area who decided to channel their shared love of dollar-bin Canadian hard rock records and poorly ripped recordings of NWOBHM they’ll never afford into a nearly decades-long pursuit of seeing how far they can play from home and how many drink tickets they can accumulate at a single gig. So far, that plan has produced a handful thrilling of short-lengths (on both tape and 7” format) and an absolutely stunning debut album, True Bearings, released in 2020 by the late/great Temple of Mystery Records.

And True Bearings was presciently titled: this was the sound of FREEWAYS hitting a fever pitch of hard rock glory, plaintive and poignant and positively bleeding pathos every step of the rough, wild way. That widely celebrated debut LP took the band overseas again that spring, where they were even-more-warmly received by rivetheads old and young. With the untimely closing of said label and their growing throng of fans in Europe, DYING VICTIMS stepped in to reissue True Bearings last year, setting the stage for their hotly anticipated follow-up.

At last, it’s here in the form of Dark Sky Sanctuary. Whereas the debut’s cover art (partly) forecasted its contents – cold and cutting on the surface, with a wealth of warmth lurking within that figurative RV – so does the cover art of Dark Sky Sanctuary similarly suggest its sonic arc. The effervescent elan of FREEWAYS is in full force here, except that that’s daubed in hues darker for the band and perhaps a bit thornier as a result. On Dark Sky Sanctuary, the quartet’s fueled by a fire here that sees them both exploring their busier & more aggressive side as equally as their stripped-back & pensive one. It’s difficult to truly qualify the latter as “poppier,” but it’s not impossible to view the moodier side of turn-of-the-‘80s radio rock through FREEWAYS’ unique, ever-engaging lens.

Somehow rougher and more polished, Dark Sky Sanctuary is a sonic safe haven for those who still hold hope for heavy rock as an authentically emotional artform. FREEWAYS are fully recommended for fans of Blue Öyster Cult, Wishbone Ash, Praying Mantis…and FREEWAYS!

DVP-292-Lady-Beast-II-1024x1024.jpg

DVP 292 Lady Beast – Lady Beast II LP

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to reissue LADY BEAST’s cult second album, Lady Beast II, on vinyl LP format.

Since 2009, LADY BEAST have been flying the flag for refined HEAVY METAL. The band hail from the Steel City of Pittsburgh, forming with firm influences ranging from Motörhead, Dio, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Mercyful Fate. From there, LADY BEAST have weaved their own unique style of metal with silky-yet-sharp harmonizing guitars and the soaring, rally-the-warriors vocals of frontwoman Deborah Levine. All the while, they’ve retained their blue-collar roots but have never forgotten the majesty of metal in its earliest, most classic form: fantasy, magic, epic adventure, and of course ANTHEMS!

While the quintet have released four full-lengths to date, it was LADY BEAST’s second album, 2015’s Lady Beast II, which could be viewed as their “breakout” moment. Released like their self-titled debut on their own Cobra Cabana Records, the original version of Lady Beast II was a vinyl edition limited to only 250 copies; the CD version followed later on Infernö Records, which closed a couple years ago. Thus, Lady Beast II has been criminally out of print, and DYING VICTIMS will now rectify that with a new vinyl version featuring remastered sound and updated cover art. Whatever year you experience it, LADY BEAST’s second album is a stormer, strutting and galloping with equal might, as instantly-hummable riffs prop up all these anthems-to-be whilst evincing a narrative flow that’s the quintessence of swords & sorcery. Of course, Levine’s vocals exude passion and power, pure & total EMOTION, and her performance here helped put LADY BEAST atop of the keep-it-true pack. Raise your sword again or for the first time with this new vinyl version of Lady Beast II!”

– Special edition on cyan blue/black splatter vinyl, with insert, poster, sticker, post card, download code and patch.

DVP 288 Spasms – Invocatio I MC

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present SPASMS’ eerie debut demo, Invocatio I, on music cassette format.

This new entity hailing from Sweden consists of veterans of the underground scene including members from acts such as Antichrist, Insane and Witchgrave. SPASMS aim for a horror-inflicting, blood-chilling raw and ugly heavy metal sound. The 3 tracks plus instrumental take you to the cemetery, invoke voodoo spells and introduce you to a maniacal midnight slasher.

DVP 285 Coltre – To Watch With Hands To Touch With Eyes LP/CD

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present COLTRE’s highly anticipated debut album, To Watch With Hands To Touch With Eyes, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

COLTRE are a heavy metal band based in London, formed in the summer of 2019 when lead guitarist Daniel Sweed and guitarist/vocalist Marco Stamigna crossed paths at the same university. Bassist Max Graves, who also attended the same university, soon joined the lineup. The trio’s shared passion and creative ideas laid the groundwork for their debut release, the EP Under The Influence.

Between September and November of 2019, COLTRE diligently worked on the EP, initially developed as a four-track mini-album. In December of the same year, they released the single “Crimson Killer.” Under The Influence made its debut in February 2020, initially in a self-released CD format, a true DIY edition. The EP’s success caught the attention of DYING VICTIMS, who sought to collaborate with the band. This collaboration resulted in the re-release of Under The Influence in multiple formats, including an additional track (the song “Fight”), in July. The year 2020 concluded with the addition of Edoardo Mariotti to the lineup, taking on the role of drummer for the band.

With the quartet now complete, COLTRE embarked on the arrangement and development of songs that would ultimately become their debut album, To Watch With Hands To Touch With Eyes. If the moody metallic majesty of Under The Influence was a portent of things to come, then To Watch With Hands To Touch With Eyes takes everything to the next level. COLTRE’s charismatic sound is still in place, thankfully – dark ‘n’ mysterious riffs, vigorously galloping rhythms, epic-yet-direct compositions, and the sage-like pipes of Stamigna atop it all – but there’s crucial distinctions here. For one, there’s a crisper sound at play across the LP; the recording’s sharper yet still rustic, perhaps a bit more hard rock in style than the NWOBHM of its predecessor. As such, the band suitably sound even livelier and more locked-in than before, with Mariotti’s many-armed drumming in particular guiding COLTRE to new destinations (and dungeons, and battlefields!). Further, their songwriting still hovers around six minutes per track, but everything feels more compact without losing the latent epicness. Most crucially, there’s a strut and swagger across To Watch With Hands To Touch With Eyes that’s IMPOSSIBLE to deny, such on the Tubeway Army-spoofing “Friends Aren’t Electric.”

One could still be mistaken for thinking COLTRE were some unearthed relic from the original NWOBHM movement, so hot-rockin’ is their swords-aloft surge, evoking high fantasy and urban grit in equal measure, but most importantly retaining that pivotal rock ‘n’ roll thrust Thin Lizzy largely gifted to that movement. But, with increased dynamic interplay and impossibly stronger songs, To Watch With Hands To Touch With Eyes wipes the slate clean and casts COLTRE as new “old” monarchs in the making!

DVP 284 Toxikull – Under the Southern Light LP/CD

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present TOXIKULL’s highly anticipated third album, Under the Southern Light, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Born and raised under the hot & blinding southern light of Portugal’s capital Lisbon, TOXIKULL took off in 2016 and have backed down since: a tumult from the Atlantic, rising to take the world by storm. With two full-lengths, an EP, and a collection of singles, full of incredible guestsfrom bands such as Skull Fist and Crystal Viper under their belts, TOXIKULL’s taunting, fearless attitude has conquered the European heavy metal underground. Now, after speedmetal-intensive Cursed and Punished in 2019 (which DYING VICTIMS later released on vinyl), they now shift gears with Under the Southern Light, present amore mature, melodic, yet thankfully still-rough version of themselves.

Stomping and strutting with absolutely authentic mid/late ‘80s swagger, Under the Southern Light is an unabashed throwback to the era where heavy metal ruled the airwaves and arenas alike. Some might’ve doubted whether such Sunset Stripping sounds could come from TOXIKULL after the all-pistons-pumping speed metal overdrive of Cursed and Punished, but the ten tracks comprising the 41-minute Under the Southern Light are all anthems in the making: larger than life, heavy and spacious, moody and dynamic. Gleaming with their brightest chrome yet, TOXIKULL here invoke the quintessential likes of ‘80s Ozzy Osbourne, Dio, Judas Priest, Accept, Saxon, Manowar, Black Sabbath, WASP, Ratt, Scorpions, Picture, Germany’s Warlock, America’s Icon, France’s Sortilege, and many more. But, instead of pastiche or hero worship, Under the Southern Light is more so a tableau of TOXIKULL’s personal experiences in the world, whereby they rearrange all these classic archetypes into a laser-focused theme on the duality of living in the Southern lands of Europe, in places with so much light, with so much joy and potential, but at the same time, with such scarcity of opportunities, no future, and infested with shadows. “The light that feeds is the same light that burns,” says vocalist Lex Thunder. “And the light that makes you dream is the same light that chains you down and keeps you close to the shadows.”

Bright & burning-hot metal pumping blood from a (metal) heart of darkness, Under the Southern Light takes the party down dark, dirty back streets…dare you drink with TOXIKULL?

DVP 283 Iron Curtain – Savage Dawn LP/CD/T-Shirt

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present IRON CURTAIN’s highly anticipated fifth album, Savage Dawn, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

For nearly 20 years now, Spanish metal inquisition IRON CURTAIN have been stalwart defenders of the faith. With a discography that includes four full-lengths and twice as many EPs, splits, and demos, IRON CURTAIN’s ever-sturdy sound was forged in the fires of the early ‘80s: largely nodding to the eternal Motörhead as well as Tank, but also Canadian gods like Exciter and Razor, to the Teutonic might of early Iron Angel and Grave Digger, to Scandinavian gods OZ and Heavy Load, to cult American icons Abattoir and Savage Grace, and the shores of Britannia with the likes of Diamond Head, Raven, and Girlschool. And with the DYING VICTIMS release of career highpoint Danger Zone in 2019, that sound’s become even more rocking than ever.

After a quick-hitting mini-album (again through DYING VICTIMS) titled Metal Gladiator whereby the band presented the new alongside re-recordings of the old, IRON CURTAIN return to assume their throne with Savage Dawn. Doubtlessly (and vividly!) displayed by its photographic cover art courtesy of Daniel Rabandan, Savage Dawn is indeed a new dawn for IRON CURTAIN: a concerted return to their rough-hewn roots, only spit-shined with the gleaming chrome that’s come to define them in recent years. Thus does Savage Dawn exhibit a unique dichotomy: their ancient metal’s more juiced-up than ever, but the craggy edges come through in the content while the form is powerfully professional – “slick” only in the very best sense, with mixing by the esteemed Javi Félez (Teitanblood, Destroyer 666, Graveyard) and mastering by the equally esteemed Jaime Gómez Arellano (Ghost, Satan, Mayhem) providing that punch. As such, across these ten new tracks (anthemically presaged by “Rattlesnake” on Metal Gladiator, as vintage four-piece Motörheaded as it comes) do we hear IRON CURTAIN throw the likes of classic Riot, Jaguar, and Running Wild into their by-now-characteristic blender, with leads and melodies more soaring than ever.

Cool songs, catchy choruses, straightforward riffs, and pure HEAVY METAL with all killers and no fillers – what more do you need?! IRON CURTAIN drop the biggest sledgehammer with Savage Dawn!
