Selbstbeschreibung der Band:
The idea for ROTPIT was born in late 2020 by Jonny (WOMBBATH / MASSACRE / BERZERKER LEGION) and Ralf (HEADS FOR THE DEAD / REVEL IN FLESH) in order to create nasty and raw to the basic sounding Death Metal.
The major inspiration came from the early 90ies way of Finnish Death Metal acts like Demigod, Abhorrence (early Amorphis), Depravity, early Sentenced mixed with British and American elements, too. The agenda: Simple, to the bone, but still groovy and with a certain twist of a melodic touch of gloominess.
After a demo pre - production Henrik (REVEL IN FLESH) joined ROTPIT on drums. The drumrecordings for “Into the Rotpit” have been done in a rehearsal like setting to keep it real and to add a natural brutal charm. Lyrically ROTPIT is a tribute to rot, decay, horror and the moment when death arrives.
Mixed and mastered at Unbound Studios (WOMBBATH, FLESHCRAWL, SENTIENT HORROR).
