Deswegen. Und nein, ich werde diese Diskussion nicht wieder führen. Ich hab meine Vorbehalte und die gehen auch nicht weg, weil NB Memoriam releaste.

Vallenfyre und Bloodbath sind nicht mein Ding, wird bei Strigoi wohl nicht anders sein. Es wär mir lieber wenn sie sich wieder mehr auf Paradise Lost konzentrieren würden!

Ich fand die Vallenfyre-Alben wirklich allesamt sehr gelungen, und werde mir dementsprechend wahrscheinlich (sofern es kein Digi wird) auch die Strigoi anschaffen - trotz Nuclear Blast. Wobei ich auch sagen muss, dass sich eine etwas bodenständigere Plattenfirma schon besser gemacht hätte für das Gesamtbild.

Zu Paradise Lost: Wie ich im dortigen Strang schon schrieb, wette ich darauf, dass sie noch im September ins Studio gehen, um die neue Scheibe einzuspielen. Zwischen Anfang September und Anfang Dezember haben die Jungs drei Monate Konzertpause. Und da sie sich für ihre Verhältnisse jetzt recht lange Zeit genommen haben, hoffe ich natürlich auf eine entsprechend epische, überraschende Platte.

Vallenfyre 2 & 3 waren großes Kino. Solange es eine normale CD Version ohne Schnickschnack und Gebimsel gibt stört mich auch NB nicht.
Werde ich sicher anchecken.

Ich mag Vallenfyre sehr. Bin deshalb auf das neue Projekt gespannt. Die Beschreibung zugrundelegend, scheint der Unterschied nicht sonderlich groß.

Man merkt wohl schon, dass Death Metal heuer nimmer so hip ist, Black Metal dafür mehr. Das Mehr an Ästhetik missfällt mir. Man hätte sich aber wegen der leichten Kurskorrektur auch nicht unbedingt umbenennen brauchen. Der Song ist aber dennoch ganz cool. Ich hoffe allerdings, dass der Rest des Albums nicht noch mehr gen Behemoth sich lehnt.

Das Liedchen gefällt mir. Wie zu erwarten Vallenfyre plus eine Prise Black Metal. Ich hoffe allerdings auch, dass es über die Albumdistanz nicht zu viel von Letzterem gibt.

Bisher gibt es bei Nuclear Blast nur eine normale Jewelcase-CD (Jawoll!) sowie schwarzes Vinyl - es geht also doch noch ohne das ganze Formate-und-Farben-Gedöns.

Song gefällt sehr gut, kommt auf die "Her-damit-aber-hopp-hopp-Liste"!

Ein wenig trauer ich ja Vallenfyre hinterher. Der Song hier klingt mir etwas zu klinisch.

Die Band war bei mir eher ein Strohfyre und rückwirkend hätte mir die Splinters vollkommen gereicht. Der neue Song reißt ich auch nicht vom Hocker.

With an approach that was as nihilistic and crusty as it was cinematically grand, PARADISE LOST's Greg Mackintosh teamed up with former EXTREME NOISE TERROR and VALLENFYRE bass player Chris Casket to record a truly bonecrushing beast of old-school death metal, titled Abandon All Faith. "'Nocturnal Vermin' is a short and vicious little song that blends elements of grindcore and OSDM with industrial touches to create an overall nasty yet ominous feel", Greg explains. "Lyrically it is about having the life drained out of you by other people purely out of malice and self interest, to the point where the mere thought of their skin and scent makes you want to be physically sick."

The band is also pleased to present the two new live members of the band. Joining them on the road will be drummer Guido Zima Montanarini (THE SECRET, ex-IMPLORE) and rhythm guitarist Sam Kelly-Wallace (ex-VALLENFYRE).

Guido says, "I had the pleasure to meet Greg and Chris on a European tour supporting VALLENFYRE with my previous band IMPLORE, and we got along instantly. I spent 5 years in VALLENFYRE, it was an amazing experience and getting to be a part of Greg and Chris's grim new venture is something I am very grateful for. I'm really looking forward to taking STRIGOI to the stage and performing alongside friends that I have a great musical history with and huge respect for."

Ich hab mich auf den Song heute früh gefreut und war dann doch ziemlich enttäuscht. Knappe 2 Minuten - ich nenn's mal - Blackened Thrash war nicht was ich erwartet habe oder hören wollte.
Ich hoffe, dass "Phantoms" repräsentativer ist für das Album.
