About W.A.S.P.

Few Bands in the history of Rock N’ Roll have ever incited the love, the hate, the raw emotional effect this Band has had on the world. From the very beginning, in the small venues of Los Angeles California, and later to the numerous countries worldwide that banned these Winged Assassins from performing live, the Band’s unique style of Shock and Rock caused Religious organizations, Local City Councils, Parlaments, and the Washington D.C. Senate to hold hearings in an effort to bar this group from selling records and trashing stages everywhere they played. The band’s founding member, frontman Blackie Lawless, has led the group as its lead vocalist and primary songwriter since its beginning. His unique brand of visual, social and political comment took the group to worldwide heights and sold millions of records alongside a legacy of sold out shows across the globe for 4 decades. Joined by bassist Mike Duda and guitarist Doug Blair, whose tenures in the band span 26 and 18 years respectively, along with drummer extraordinaire Aquiles Priester, will take the Band and the Fans back to where it all started. Complete with the stage show extravaganza that many fans never saw live.

Nicht die Headless Children Tour, die ich mir nachgeholt gehofft hatte, aber wer bin ich, mich über eine Early Days Tour zu echauffieren? :jubel:Tour wird natürlich irgendwo mitgenommen. Hoffe mal noch auf einen Termin in der Schweiz, vergessen hat uns Blackie in den letzten Jahren ja nie.
 
KfD wird ja im neuen Deaf Forever als extrem unterbewertet dargestellt.
Ist dem wirklich so?

Jap, dem ist definitiv so. Wurde und wird teilweise als bloße Anbiederung an (vermeintlich) trendige Spätneunzigerindustrialmetalsounds abgetan; hat aber so geiles Songwriting und vor allem so viel Dunkelheit und Aggression, dass das Soundgewand wie die Faust aufs Auge passt. Check it out!

Liest du das wirklich wie ne Early Days Tour? Also so explizit steht das ja nicht da wie bei der letzten Tour die angekündigt wurde. Auf ne reine Retronummer hätte ich wie schon geschrieben hier auch wenig Lust, dafür ist die gesamte Discography einfach zu stark.

edit: zur KFD - richtig geiles Werk, indem Blackie zeigt dass er halt weißgott mehr kann als seine 3 üblichen Songs. Allein die Stimmung bei "The Horror" ist ein Kauf wert!
 
Ich war damals mies drauf, und von daher passte die KFD ziemlich gut zur (damaligen) Gemütslage. Ehrlicherweise muss ich sagen, dass ich sie seit Ewigkeiten nicht mehr gehört habe und bei WASP eher zu anderen Alben greife...

Wo du's so ansprichst: muss ja nicht sein. Und im Grunde genommen war Blackies Setlist in den letzten Jahren eh immer sehr stark vom Frühwerk geprägt. Aber wenn er die Tour von damals aufleben lassen will, muss er ja auch die dementsprechenden Songs spielen. Ansonsten werde ich halt leichte Black Metal Vibes wahrnehmen, wenn er sich zum Golgotha Titeltrack Blut über die Rübe schüttet.... auch mal was anderes. :D So oder so freue ich mich auf die nächste Tour. :)

ich bin ja dann eher mal gespannt, ob leichtbekleidete Hörige dann auch wieder an den Pranger gebunden und mit Kunstblut besudelt werden und die gute olle Chainsaw-Buxe ihr Comeback feiert;)
 
Warum nur so wenige Dates in Deutschland? Naja, evtl. Mannheim aber ist halt schon ein Ritt.
 
Habe die Band tatsächlich nach der tollen "The Headless Children" ganz aus den Augen und Ohren verloren, aber in Ludwigsburg, trotz seit längerem deutlich anderer Hörgewohnheiten, nochmals mitgenommen, wo sie einfach großartig waren! Habe mir im Nachgang, als das Interesse an nicht-extremem Metal in den 2000ern wieder aufflammte, dann die total geile "Crimson Idol" nachgekauft und in einige andere reingehört, wovon ich gerade die letzte, die "Golgotha" wieder sehr gut finde. Ich freue mich einfach, da die Combo den kleinen Fallen Idol mit ihrem blutigen, sex-driven Image natürlich ne Weile in Beschlag nahmen, mein Fave bleibt "The Last Command".
