Nach dem Ende von Temple of Mystery ist die Band jetzt bei Dying Victims gelandet. Dürfte für mein Gefühl die bislang 'renommierteste' Band dort sein - Gratulation an @Dying Victims Prod!

Dying Victims Productions is proud to announce that Pagan Altar will join the label and we will be working on a new album as well as reissues of their previous masterpieces in 2024.
At the same time I am thrilled to announce their headliner show at next year's Dying Victims Attack!
For over a decade I have seen the band play live across Europe (and at Hell's Heroes in Texas) - each time they delivered one of the top performances of the event. Working together with the band is massive and a huge honour!
Annick from Temple of Mystery Records will be supporting the project as graphic designer.

Sehe schade dass Temple of Mystery aufhört aber toll dass Dying Victims diese Band landen konnten.

Tolles Undergroundlabel, auf dem Pagan Altar (noch) ein relativer Fremdkörper sind. Aber ich sehe das Signing auch als weiteres Zeichen, dass DVP die Augen auf neue Jagdgründe gerichtet hat - man bedenke den Coup mit der zweiten Sortilége - und begrüße das explizit (after all, je mehr man bei einem Lieblingslabel auf einmal eintüten kann, umso besser).

Für mich ist das auch ein gutes Zeichen, dass es mit den Band weitergeht.
Ich möchte Pagan Altar noch ein paar Mal live sehen, bevor ich die abschließende Heimreise antrete.
Zumal dieses Glück einigen mir nahestehenden Personen noch nicht vergönt war.

In jedem Fall ein toller Coup, den @Dying Victims Prod hier gelandet hat.
Ich gratuliere Band und Label und freu mich.

Wenn ich hätte raten sollen, hätte ich auch eher gedacht, dass die alten und neuen Releases der Band jetzt vielleicht bei High Roller kommen, aber da ich Dying Victims als das 'lebendigere' Label empfinde (kein Diss gegen HRR, sondern eher auf die ganzen Live-Aktivitäten im Zusammenhang mit Dying Victims bezogen), finde ich das eigentlich schon ziemlich cool so.

Habe Pagan Altar gestern zum ersten Mal live gesehen und zum ersten Mal eigentlich bewusst gehört. Ich war schwer beeindruckt. Aber ziemlich schnell war ich mir sicher, das ich einen der Gitarristen, Dennis Schneider mit der Flying V irgendwo in den letzten Jahren schon mal auf der Bühne gesehen habe. Kann mir einer auf die Sprünge helfen wo er noch mitspielt?

Naja, die eigentliche Band vom Dennis (Opolus) ist/war Kathaaria. Ich weiß aber nicht, ob die Live aufgetreten sind. Sonst wüsste ich nicht, dass der noch irgendwo mitspielt.

Pagan Altar war wieder mal eine Macht. Evventuell sogar besser als der Auftritt auf dem Chaos Descendes, kann aber auch daran liegen das ich bei dem Dying Victims Attack nicht so betrunken gewesen bin

Habe die Band durch das Deaf Forever erst in den letzten 10 Jahren richtig für mich entdeckt und mir einige Alben auf Vinyl geholt.
Großartige, völlig unterbewertete Band.

Ich bin auch erst mit der fantastischen "Room Of Shadows" Fan der Band geworden und da lebte Terry Jones schon nicht mehr.... Danach habe ich mir den grandiosen Backkatalog zugelegt bin nach wie vor schwer angetan.
Aber, ich dachte Alan Jones würde seit Jahren an neuem Material arbeiten...bis dato habe ich leider nichts davon gehört. Ich hätte wirklich gerne neuen Stoff anstatt immer wieder Neuauflagen des alten Krams....

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to reissue PAGAN ALTAR’S cult releases, Judgement of the Dead and The Time Lord, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

While the band is working hard on the upcoming new album, these reissues kick off the collaboration between the British Doom Metal pioneers PAGAN ALTAR and Dying Victims Productions. Based on the beautifully crafted releases on Canada’s Temple of Mystery, these important recordings will finally return into circulation.

Originally recorded back in 1978-79, “The Time Lord” features Pagan Altar’s earliest recordings. Two of these flawlessly executed tracks are from a 24-track recording session, and the rest of the album are early, atmospheric versions of songs that were later re-recorded on Judgement of the Dead. This LP includes a long-lost, never-heard before version of “Night Rider”, from the same era as the other songs! This is pure doom metal sorcery.

Originally recorded in 1982 during the NWOBHM movement, Pagan Altar’s debut album, Judgement of the Dead, is a timeless classic of macabre heavy/doom metal centered around magic, witchcraft, and the occult. This holy grail album is one of the purest, most magical records that were ever written, and had a tremendous influence on the heavy/doom metal scene.
