Die Spermbirds haben sich mal wieder aufgelöst. Danke für 40 Jahre coole Musik und großartige Shows. Schade, die hätten gerne noch 10,15 Jahre machen dürfen. Mal sehen, wie es weiter geht.

Spermbirds have split
Some of you won´t believe this as we have announced it quite a few times over the years since the early 1980’s – still it is sad but true: The Spermbirds are no more. And given our age, it is quite realistic that this time it’s forever.
You might want to know the reasons, but we don´t want to go into too many details. Let’s just say: Lee has left the band for various reasons. And unlike in 1993, we will not continue Spermbirds with a different singer.
Roger, Markus, Steve and Beppo will stay together, though. There are new plans, and they will be announced in due time. Just a hint: There are more than 40 Songs waiting for some vocals.
Although it is sad that this band ends now, we are looking back with great gratitude on more than 40 fantastic years. 40 years with the Spermbirds family, which does not merely include us five musicians, our ex-members, our beloved roadies Matzi and Hadi and our mastermind Jürgen from Rookie Records. It also includes our amazing audience, all those great people we have met over the years. We will never forget the great times we had with all of you and hopefully we will see each other again when we hit the stages with something new. Stay tuned – and don’t forget the fun!

Und dieses Mal wohl (und völlig nachvollziehbar) endgültig. Sehr schade, großartige Band. Ich bin froh, sie im Herbst/Winter ihrer Karriere nochmal live gesehen zu haben.

Trotz tragischen Vorzeichen (die Band war in einen schweren Verkehrsunfall verwickelt und einige Mitglieder befinden sich noch in der langen Regenerationsphase) nehmen Year Of The Knife auf ihrer neuen Platte "No Love Lost" alles auseinander. Dabei entwickeln sie ihren Sound konsequent in Richtung Death Metal weiter und holen sich passend dazu u.a. Dylan Walker und Devin Swank als Gäste auf die Platte.

Vielleicht kennt hier der ein oder andere noch die deutschen Band ZORN. Also nicht die deutsche Black Metal Band, und auch nicht die aktuelle Punk/Black Band aus den USA (obwohl die ganz gut sind). Sondern die, die zwischen 1994-1997 Anfangs reinen Hardcore Punk und sich dann Einfüssen aus Metal & Gothic geöffnet haben.
Deren Discography (remastered) kommt als Doppel Album bei AUDIOLITH raus, und ich konnte mich mit FUCKING KILL Records mit einem 100er Kontingent in unten ersichtlicher Farbe beteiligen. Was mich sehr freut!

Suche paar HC Bands mit ähnlichem Gesang wie Sheer Terror oder der Set it Off von Madball. Wobei ich mich bis heute frage, was mit dessen Stimme nach diesem Album passiert ist. Der Klang so völlig anders...

Naja, so anders "singt" der MADBALL Freddy auf den anderen Platte ja auch nicht. Er war zu Set it Off Zeiten einfach noch Superjung und raucht auch gerne mal was weg. Slapshot evtl. was für dich?80er, 90er, aktuell spielt keine Rolle...
So sehr wie Set it Off wird mich wohl eh nix mehr flashen
Der Gesang war gigantisch! Keine Ahnung was danach passiert ist. Der Klang ja live zu der Zeit auch nicht annähernd so wie auf der Platte
