The original name given to the 1981 formation of King Crimson, before they
"knew (they) were King Crimson". Members are: Adrian Belew, Bill Bruford, Robert Fripp, Tony Levin. Rehearsals began April 2nd, 1981. The first live show was played at the Moles Club in Bath on April 30th, 1981. The final live show under this name was played at the University Of Brussels on May 16th, 1981. Recording began for the album to share the band's name two days later, on May 18th, 1981, and was ultimately released as
King Crimson.
Aus dem Wikipedia-Beitrag zu Fripps The League Of Gentlemen: The run-out groove on this side bears the message "THE NEXT STEP IS DISCIPLINE" – this was a reference to Fripp's next project which was a new band called Discipline. The band was announced in the British music press and they played some gigs and started recording before Robert Fripp, as he later reported to journalists, was driving home, listening to a tape of the new band, and found "..the presence of King Crimson sitting next to me..." So Discipline became the new incarnation of King Crimson, while
Discipline remained as the album title only.
Ein anderes Release von Discipline gibt es nicht.
