Brutal Assault 9.-12.8.2023 (Josefov, CZ)

Ich komme im diesjährigen Lineup bisher auf vielleicht 4-5 Bands, die mich richtig motivieren. Das wird wohl nicht reichen. Ist bei dem üblichen Septemberprogramm aber wahrscheinlich eh ein Segen.
 
Hab unzähliges das mich total abholt. Cult of Luna, the ocean, knocked loose, touché amore usw.
 
Ja ist schon krass, letztes Jahr hab ich da auch 30-35 Bands angeschaut. Wobei man immer noch was mitnimmt, weswegen man nicht unbedingt hingefahren ist. So geht’s mir zumindest.

Man kann sich jetzt mit diesem "Design your Festivalposter"-Dings die Running Order erschließen (https://my.brutalassault.cz). Paar unschöne Überschneidungen sind dabei. Aber das Programm ist schon ein ziemliches Brett, weiß gar nicht, wie ich das in meinem Alter alles schaffen soll. :D
 
Viel ärgerlicher finde ich den Wechsel von der entspannten Bastion-Bühne zurück zum Octagon. Der Platz vor der Bühne ist dort viel zu klein und klar konnte man sich vom Seiteneingang der Galerie vorkämpfen, aber jedesmal der Stress. Positiv hingegen, dass anscheinend das Parkverbot in der Stadt nun doch nicht durchgesetzt wird und es wohl diesmal auf dem Gelände kostenlos Trinkwasser geben soll :top:

Herrje, ist das wirklich so? Als ich das erste mal geguckt habe, stand da noch Bastion in den Spielzeiten, jetzt Octagon. Auf der aktuellen Karte auf der Homepage ist auch die Bastion-Stage eingezeichnet. Ich fand die Octagon-Stage auch problematisch, und wenn da dann Bands wie Mantar spielen sollen, die letztes Mal auf der Zeltbühne vor gar nicht wenig Leuten aufgetreten sind, puha, das wäre nicht so schön. Dödsrit, Spectral Wound, das sind doch alles keine Geheimtipps mehr, die sollen da in diesem winzigen Innenhof spielen?

Mies, dass White Ward raus sind - und ja, Octagon ist ein Problem.

Anscheinend wegen Sicherheitsbedenken:
"Yesterday night, there was an extensive interview with the BA organizers on Slovak radio and they provided some pretty useful info about this year's edition which wasn't announced in any other official capacity yet so I think it would be better to provide a small summary.
  1. BASTION STAGE IS MOVING BACK TO OCTAGON: due to serious issues with structural integrity of the surrounding building (bricks were falling off that building), this stage is forced to move back to octagon area, which means that the stage area will have significantly less space and especially during evening hours it will be difficult to get through to surrounding bars. The Bastion area will remain open as a "chillout zone" with a winery, a gallery and a post-apocalyptic zone (those who were present last year or in 2019 will know

    ). Hopefully, the stage will return to its rightful place next year.
  2. LAST BANDS AND CANCELLATIONS: the last bands for the lineup should be announced by the end of this week or the beginning of the next. As for regular stages, there will be 4-6 bands added to the lineup (definitely no big names, so don't expect a substitute for Anthrax or anything). Other than that, only bands for KAL stage (ambient, noise and electronic artists) will be announced, which should complete the 150 band lineup. When it comes to Ukrainian bands (1914 and White Ward), the bands haven't announced any cancellations, but it is very close to it and most likely will be cancelled with the announcement of the last bands.
  3. WARM-UP DAY (TUESDAY): only the area surrounding the Obscure Stage will be open on Tuesday (similar to what was in 2019), the gates will open at 14:00.
  4. FREE WATER: next to the official merch booth (close to Obscure stage) should be a place where you can freely get drinking water (most likely canisters). The wash area close to main entrance will still be considered non-drinkable (although I know that some of you don't really care

  5. PARKING AROUND TOWN: the biggest issue that the organizers had this year was with the newly elected council, who according to them don't really understand the appeal of the festival and tried to force a ban on free parking inside the town. Fortunately it didn't get through, so it is possible to park in town, but it's forbidden to park on the main road, in front of gates or in front of entrances of houses and apartment buildings (which was the case in previous years). It's still recommended to buy tickets for parking spaces in the website for safety reasons.
  6. TOP-UP AND WRISTBANDS: the system of top-ups will be pretty much the same as last year and although they didn't mention it, I think it still won't be possible to order the wirstbands by post."

Possessed auf der Obscure... Als die das letzte Mal von mir dort gesehen wurden, war das auf der Zelt Bühne. Davor war eine Traube für die das Zelt dreifach größer hätte sein müssen. Ich sehe eine Menge solcher Fehlplatzierungen und damit eine Menge Stress.
